NEW TOWN EDINBURGH
A featureless expanse of flagstones is enhanced by the removal of broken flags filled
with contransting surfacing and ground cover. The remaining flags provide access to the
front door, cellars and through the site. Hard materials only are placed on the dry area
under the foot bridge for design continuity. Massive terracotta pots planted with tree ferns
create dramatic vertical interest holding the eye from wandering along the thin space.
